
On 13 March 2008 the Attorney-General, the Hon Robert McClelland MP announced the appointment of the Hon. John Clarke QC to conduct an inquiry into the case of Dr Mohamed Haneef.
The Inquiry will be conducted in a way that will enable the participation of all interested parties and also provide opportunities for public input on the matters covered by the Terms of Reference.
On 5 September 2008 the Attorney-General granted an extension to the Inquiry until 14 November 2008.
